Sell Used or Broken Electronics for Cash

Craigslist.com
Craigslist is a website devoted to buying and selling locally. All exchanges are made in person by the seller and buyer. If you haven't yet discovered the wonders of Craigslist, you are missing out on a great opportunity to sell used electronics that you no longer need. The greatest thing about the site is that any electronic device -- new, used or broken, has value and can be sold.

This option is not without it's downsides though. Many people will try and haggle a bit to get a lower price for an item you listed. This isn't a big deal if you are shooting for a quick sale anyway. The other downfall is that you have to actually meet the person somewhere to sell the used electronics. As a safety measure, it's recommended that you choose a public place during the daytime to do the sale.
Ebay.com
Ebay.com can be a great way to get cash for your older devices. Signing up is free to buy or sell. When you list an item you have the choice of either auction format or "Buy it Now". If you are unsure of what an item is worth, an online auction may be the best route. It can also be very exciting to watch the final minutes an auction for an old phone you thought was worthless!

Keep in mind the eBay does charge fees as high as 9% on the final sale. If you use PayPal to receive the payment, that's an additional 2.9%. Luckily, there are millions of buyers online daily looking for deals, so you're likely to get a premium for your used electronics.
Instant Sale/Trade-in Sites
With a new round of upgraded electronics being released every year, it's not surprising that many sites now offer to buy your used electronics. Unlike many of the old brick and mortar trade-in stores, many of these sites offer a handsome amount for an old iPhone or laptop. The great thing about these sites is that you get an instant quote. If you decide to sell you simply pack the item up and ship it off. The money is deposited into your PayPal account a few days later or you can optionally opt for a check to be mailed to you.

These sites are very convenient, however their prices may be a bit lower than eBay . It's just a matter of deciding whether you'd rather have convenience or a little bit more money for your items.
